Note: this is not a Business Intelligence role as such it is a Forensic investigation of data with key skills being problem solving, SQL, R, ability to work with various types of structured and unstructured data to create often bespoke solutions.
Responsibilities will include:
Consulting with stakeholders on business issues, often explaining complex technical concepts in layman terms; good understanding of various business sectors and strong problem solvingLeading Investigations sometimes in difficult high profile circumstances to do with corruption, accounting issues, bribery, insider trading etc.Innovation, problem solving within the team, identifying and implementing the latest technology solutions;Manage/deliver projects within defined budgets and the provision of clear and concise details of progress to stakeholders;Strong quantitative analysis and summarisation of complex transactional data sets;Writing SQL and other programming languages (e.g. Python) to aid data interrogation and investigations;Ensuring the team adheres to best practices, developing and implementing code;Drafting reports and presentations to explain our findings to stakeholders;
Essential skills/experienceTo be considered you must have experience working in a data analytics e.g.Data querying and manipulation programming (e.g. SQL (primary), SAS (useful not essential); data visulaisation, querying databasesScripting/programming skills (e.g. R, Python most along with SQL);Understanding of common data quality problems; problem solvingETL (e.g. Alteryx);Data visualisation (e.g. Tableau more than Power BI);Statistical, text mining concepts e.g. Clustering;Analysis of financial data to support forensic accounting investigation teams.Experience of working in a client facing or advisory role; particularly for Senior ManagerStrong logical reasoning, attention to detail and problem-solving skills;Excellent written, oral and presentation skills;Experience of managing other people 3-5 for Manager and Sr Managers will have managed Managers and multiple projects 3-6 at a time).
Strong leadership skills, including project management; with good communication skillsThe ability to devise creative often bespoke solutions to complex problems;Exceptional analytical and technical skills;Ability to manage time, prioritise tasks and work under tight deadlines;
